Equal Protection on Health Care Reform 

The Baucus Health Care Bill is back from the CBO and has been scored.  The content of the bill is nothing that they wanted in the White House and is suspect at the very least.   Why would they want to vote on a bill that was originally going to cover “every person in the country” but actually will only cover 94% of all Americans? 

 

Why would they tell us that no illegal aliens will receive benefits when there are court cases that stipulate “equal protection under the law?”  The fourteenth amendment stipulates this fact as follows.  Section. 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”  

 

What this shows is that everyone will be covered regardless of citizenship status.  The heath care bill will require every health care facility to provide care under this provision of our Constitution.  

 

There happens to be a large percentage of members of Congress that happen to be lawyers, why are they silent on this issue?   Why do they all say no illegal immigrants will be covered under our bill?  Harry Reid has a plan and he has stated they will pass health care this year regardless of what the people think.  Their objective is to pass a Senate bill that is watered down in content then tell the American people this is a great bill and will proceed to explain it in terms that sound good. 

 

Don’t be fooled, once they pass it and combine the House and the Senate version we will have the monstrosity that they envisioned.  They will have the health care reform that they wanted for the past 20 years. They will have finally taken away the rights of the people and given it to the government. That is their plan but we have a chance to still stop it by calling the Senate switch board and telling our elected officials we do not want government run health care.  

 

If the members of Congress would manager the waste we could give every person in America health care and not spend one red cent more.  Imagine the treatments that could be performed with the 70 billion dollars of waste in the Medicare/ Medicaid system.
