 Nancy Pelosi Speaks Again

Nancy Pelosi has spoken once again.  I saw her on Charlie Rose; she was asked if a VAT tax would be something that she would look at.  She stated basically that any tax is worth looking at.  Now this is what  America needs at this time is another tax to further the agenda of the liberal left.  Our budget for this year is 1.2 trillion dollars.  We have a 13 trillion dollar national debt with future payments close to 70 trillion.  This is no time to find new ways to tax the American Citizens.

We have lost over a million jobs this year.  The unemployed in Nevada is now over 13%.  Small businesses are suffering throughout the nation.  A good majority of small businesses have gone out of business because of the lack of customers.  The ones who have managed to stay open are operating with 50 to 60% less volume then they had the year before.

We could look into changing the tax system to help the employers make it through the tough times ahead.  Here’s a thought, why not do away with the income tax on wages and have a consumer tax that everyone would pay according to their needs.  We should not be taxes our services should we?  We could enact an 8% federal tax on spending which would amount to a net tax collected each year of approximately 1.2 trillion based on the CBO’s projections of GDP. This would be close to or even above the current taxes received from wages.

Or, maybe we could approach the subject of the governments spending on waste and fraud.  The CBO estimates the waste and fraud amounts to about 10% in almost every entity that the government has its hands in.  With 100 billion in waste just on the budget for this year we could reduce the national debt and the taxes you and I pay into the federal government.

Why don’t we hire a purchasing agent from a private industry to purchase the goods for WE THE PEOPLE?  I worked in the retail industry and know many agents that could work out fabulous deals when purchasing machinery, equipment, paper, desks, etc…... you get the picture.  The days of six hundred dollar hammers and thousand dollar toilet seats are over. We need to take responsibility for our actions and do what is right for our country.

We need common sense approaches to the issues that will result in a smaller less intrusive government, lower taxes and maybe we could even have a Congress with a higher approval rating than the current 21%.
